Rodi Ride's shaper Alvaro has been a well known face in the Asturias line ups for the last 25 years. It was back then when his curiosity for surfboard designs begun. And it wasn't much later that he started shaping his first boards (of over 9.000 so far), in the basement of his parents' summer house at Rodiles.
From there on, his passion for shaping tuck him all around the world, to places like Portugal, Canary Islands, Morocco, Peru, or Australia, were he learned form working with renowned shapers as Bruce McKee, Fezz Crozier, Neil Belcher or Jeff Johnson, and from being always very sensitive to the comments and perceptions of his surfing buddies, some of them pro surfers like Joel Parkinson, Robin Sherwell, legendary Gary "Kong" Elkerton or world champ Mark Occhilupo among others.
With such an experience and knowledge, plus a flaming perfectionist spirit that compels him to personally carry out each and every step of the fabrication process, from shaping to sanding., we can honestly say; Rodi Ride are the best 100% hand made surfboards around here.
